Roni Lynette Jones
Roni is an International Yoga Teacher, C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, Sound Therapist, and Tibetan Buddhist practitioner, based in Thailand. A forerunner of integrating Yoga, Sound and Mindfulness, Roni leads ‘200h Holistic Yoga & Sound Teacher Trainings’, Sound Healing Trainings, Women’s Retreats, as well as Yoga Trekking Retreats in Nepal. She has over 2500 hours of Yoga and Yoga Therapy Certifications, thousands of teaching hours, and more than 25 years of study and retreats. Roni teaches Holistic Hatha Yoga, Yin & Restorative Yoga, integrating Buddha-Dharma. Originally from the UK, Roni has lived in Asia for fifteen years now.
Learning from leaders in the field she offers credible and in-depth teachings. The main focus for Roni is integrating the teachings of Yoga with the modern and scientific understanding of the body-mind complex. Applying the Yoga and Buddhist Psychological framework for mental health, imbued with her interest in neuroscience and elemental wisdom (Tibetan, Indian & Tao). She views Yoga as a practice of connection, relationship and self-empowerment for integral growth.
Bringing with her an advanced education in Classical Yoga, and longstanding experience in Tibetan Buddhist practices, she brings a deep knowledge, presence, and grace to the practice. Being drawn to the colourful world of Tibetan Buddhism from an early age, with its insightful meditations and deity practices, she took refuge in the Karma Kagyu Lineage in 2004. Roni has since attended many silent meditation retreats, especially in Dharamsala, India, each year.
“I am passionate about the limitless possibilities of applying the tools of yoga to absolutely anyone under any circumstance, both therapeutically and also as a means to advance a practice by working from the inside-out”
Working as a private Yoga Therapist since 2014, Roni has supported hundreds of clients with spinal imbalances, anxiety, depression and women’s health. She continues to develop her research and practices in Therapeutic Yoga and Sound Therapy for mental health, emotional trauma and chronic pain.
Roni’s rich teachings evoke a deeply ingrained tender experience, that comes from a lifetime of spiritual exploration, creative expression and life’s difficulties. Roni’s immediate family both parents, each of their siblings, and her grandmother passed away from strains of the same terminal illness starting with her mother 23 years ago, and her father 13 years ago. ‘Educate, Embody and Empower’ has become an ever-evolving practice and experience, both for herself, and her students.
Roni delivers a powerful breath-centred Hatha Yoga practice infused with Mindfulness, and a profound knowledge of interweaving Sound for internal resonance, in a graceful meditative way. She teaches with integrity and clarity of instruction, bringing you Hatha classes that are poetic, authentic, and engaging. Often exploring dharma themes, therapeutic elements, polyvagal theory, myofascial release and bio mechanical principles, allowing students to develop wisdom and compassion. Her Yin Yoga classes of longer held postures stimulating the Taoist meridian lines, invite deep inner listening and subtle energy body work.
A background in theatrical arts as professional Stage Designer for ten years at many London Theatres, and Roni’s love for nature, inspires her to design sacred spaces for moon ceremonies, classes and special retreats. This combined with her passion as a Sound Therapist, developing her work as Elemental Sound Therapy, invites a nurturing container for deep relaxation and shifts in consciousness. Incorporating Gongs, Singing Bowls, Crystal Bowls, Drum, other ancient instruments and Voice as a catalyst for change. She is also a collaborator on the largest Sacred Sound Bath in SE Asia held at Island Yoga. Now also moving into the field of holistic performance creating space for inquiry, exploration, intuition and creativity for connection.
Roni feels most at home in the mountains, studying and practicing, and is greatly inspired by other cultures’ ways of living and creative outlets. Artwork, designing, writing, music and dance are very much important for her to nourish herself.

TRADITIONAL, PROFESSIONAL & POWERFUL
Roni’s character as a yoga teacher is traditional, professional, and powerful, and as a human being, she has an incredibly strong presence that you can feel as soon as you meet her because of her drive and dedication to yoga – on and off the mat. I feel beyond blessed to have been able to say I am a student of Roni Miteff’s. I have always loved the quote “Be the change you want the world to see.”, and it is clear, to me, that Roni keeps up with her own practice, continuing to be an example of what she teaches, and I both honor and respect everything about her that I have come to know.
MEDITATION IN MOVEMENT
It is difficult to find teachers who really follow the path and share this with love to everybody, I felt this in Roni’s classes! Her energy was so peaceful. Every class was a meditation in movement for me. The perfect amount of effort and ease, of challenging poses and restoratives ones. I felt also that she was taking care of all the students regarding body limitations and anatomy. Every time I finished her classes I was feeling really peaceful and happy.
DIVERSITY & CREATIVITY
Roni is a well developed yoga teacher and I admire her devotion to the Buddhist principals. I feel I have gained maximum benefits in her classes both in alignment and awareness. She brings a lot of diversity and creativity in her classes. I really enjoyed how she shares her insight at the beginning of the class, which is very nurturing and offers the space in the practice to really breathe through it all. Roni pays close attention to the needs of each individual yet moving along well as a group.
INSPIRATIONAL
Roni’s yoga class is inspirational. The energy was so positive and her presentation, explanations, and attention to all the participants is unique.
A GIFT FOR HOLDING SPACE
REAL YOGA
Roni’s classes focused every day in a different part of the body, a different emotion. Every day I felt I was connecting more with my inner self, my feelings, and it made me get in touch with them in a very magical way. While doing the class, I was not only moving my body, I also sensed my spirit moving with it. I really enjoyed every part of it. It let me unify my inner with my outer self. It was awesome, it was real yoga!
TRUE MEANING OF YOGA
I remember the first yoga class with Roni. She welcomed us with a warm and loving voice and immediately asked us about our injuries. I told her about my shoulder. With every posture Roni was telling us about the true meaning of yoga, about the philosophy behind it, about the meaning of self-acceptance and about self-love. Things that I had forgotten through the years of studying to become a doctor, always excited by achieving more, and getting into so-called balance by pushing myself ever harder in running competitions and boot camps, exceeding my limits every day.
I learned to listen to my body for the first time. I tried to follow the postures and do the ‘advanced’ version, but every time Roni saw difficulties or imbalances she would gently re-adjust the posture, or suggest an alternative version. Over time I realized that yoga means to breathe, to be gentle to yourself, to notice your limitations and gently go forward in your practice. An experience that filled me with so much energy and love. I felt like Roni always had the right words to inspire us to look inside ourselves and get to know ourselves better.
