Holistic Yoga and Sound

 

Yoga and Sound is a very powerful combination of postural work, breath, mindfulness, frequency and vibration. This provides a synthesis of harmonious resonance for growth and transformation physically, mentally and emotionally. It is a deep healing experience leaving you feeling balanced, calm and rejuvenated. Using the world’s finest quality healing grade Singing Bowls, Gongs and other sound tools to support your journey inwards and experience yourself in your entirety. Holistic Hatha Yoga classes with Pure Nature Yoga often incorporate Sound through voice and chanting, to prepare the breath for deeper seated practices, as was traditionally taught. Voice is actually our most powerful self-healing tool.

Roni’s other specialities are as a long standing Yin Yoga & Restorative Teacher on a foundation of embodied mindfulness. Roni as trained up to Level 2 Yin Yoga with Sarah Powers, and has a long term practice as a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner. Most of Roni’s teachings are based on Elemental Theory, Yoga & Buddhist Pyschology, Polyvagal Theory, Science of Sound, Mindfulness and Neuroscience.

Elemental Yin Yoga & Sacred Sound

 

Elemental Yin Yoga incoprating embodied mindfulness is deeply grounding and nourishing, although it can be mentally and physically challenging due to its meditative nature. Release tension, observe the mind, and rest in stillness through this series of passive floor poses that apply moderate stress to the connective tissues (ligaments, tendons and fascia). Set to the transformative sound journey of Tibetan Singing Bowls, Meridian Tuning Forks, Gongs, and Elemental Instruments in a dimly lit space. The long held poses of 5 minutes or more gently stimulate the acupuncture meridians from the Chinese Taoist system, and allowing gravity to do the work for you. It helps to improve the flow of Qi through these pathways and therefore affect organ health, immunity, and emotional well being. Each week we explore a specific element, earth, water, wood, metal or fire, and its corresponding pair of meridians. Quieting of the mind is the supreme focus of this class, as you work toward meditation and deep relaxation.

Invite your body to soften, your mind to let go and the breath to deepen in this rejuvenating, receptive form of yoga. Your chance to feel fully supported as you rest in postures using bolsters, blankets and blocks for extended periods. By consciously taking the body to a deep state of relaxation, we allow tension to release and activate the body’s own natural healing mechanisms. It offers a sacred pause in the midst of a busy life, melts away stress, invites recovery from illness and injury and renews our energy levels. Experience the stillness within and let the body-mind complex return to a natural state of equilibrium. Enjoy an extended live sound savasana with Tibetan Singing Bowls and Gongs for the last 25mins.
